Mini Baja grows and gets international

30 outubro 2014

Mini Baja, a competition open only to youngster between 8 and 15 years of age which has been held in conjunction with Baja Portalegre 500 since 2011, keeps on growing and has already international projection, attracting riders from abroad.
After a very interesting entry list of 25 riders on its third edition, this year’s event has grown to a total of 34 competitors, of whom 16 are second timers from last year. This underlines the success of the initiative, with riders coming back for further participations and, at the same time, with new names attracted to the event. Moreover, the Mini Baja has even got the attention of foreign riders this year.
For the first time, the competition will include a French rider, Enzo Pedrosa (11 years old), and a Brazilian, Patrick de Assis Mesquita (14 years old). Therefore, the Mini Baja has attracted riders not only beyond the Portuguese boarders, but even beyond Europe, crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
Also remarkable is the fact that 15 riders have chosen to participate not only on Friday, on the qualifying and final races (held on 2.5 km of SSS1), but also on the last 75 km of the Baja Portalegre 500 SS2 for Bikes.
